Northeast R-IV earns top scores on Annual Yearly Progress Report
Submitted - September 27, 2010The Northeast R-IV Board of Education met Thursday, September 16, 2010 for its monthly board meeting. Members present were: Dale Samp, Kevin Mathis, Matt Bragg, and Mark Cooley. Also present were Twana Hulen and administrators Richard Morelock, superintendent; Melva Gipson, elementary principal; and Greg Taylor, secondary principal.
During the Superintendent’s Report, Mr. Morelock reported the Northeast R-IV School once again scored 14 out of 14 on the Annual Performance Report. He also told the Board that the Missouri School Budget Survey, conducted by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, was done to determine projected budget modifications over the next couple of years.

Under New Business, Twana Hulen presented the formation of a new National Business Honor Society. The Board approved the organization of the National Business Honor Society.
Mr. Morelock presented new and updated board policies for the first reading. The policies primarily represent changes in laws that have occurred since the last update. The Board then updated the Extracurricular Salary Schedule to include FTA.
The Board discussed the filling of the open Board seat. An appointment of a Board member may occur at the October Board Meeting. The Board then voted to employ Chad Crutchfield as maintenance man. The Board voted to employ Wade King as FTA sponsor and accepted a resignation from Robin Walker.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m., October 21, in the Middle School Science Lab.
