Cemetery walk to benefit 4th St. Theatre

By Carolee Hazlet, chair

Here is a chance to see some of Moberly’s history come to life and have a fun filled and educational afternoon as well. The Special Events Committee of the 4th Street Theatre restoration is putting together a very unique afternoon that will be entertaining for all ages.

There will be a Cemetery Walk/Tour at Oakland Cemetery (the Moberly City Cemetery) on Saturday, May 22. This will be a tour of specified grave sites of some of the early pioneers of Moberly with actors portraying the individuals. Those portraying will be in full costume, and will only be able to talk in first person about their life. Questions may be asked but only about their era. Sounds interesting? It will be as well as fun and at the end of the tour there will be refreshments and a chance to visit with President and Mrs. Lincoln.

The people portraying the individuals are all Moberly people so come out and see your friends re-enact characters from Moberly’s history.

There will be much more information about the event very soon but do mark your calendars now so you won’t miss it.

The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased early at the Chamber of Commerce or by calling Carolee Hazlet at 660-263-3345 for tickets or more information. They will also be sold at the gate.
