Tigers win doubleheader against Otterville

The Higbee Tigers played a double header last Friday evening against the Otterville Eagles. Higbee’s pitching was on as well as their hitting winning the first game 13-1 and the second 18-1.
In game one Travis Holtzclaw pitched all five innings while striking out 9 batters only allowing one run on three hits. Craig DeJonge had 2 singles and 2 RBI’s and Gus Points hit his first home run of the season in the second inning.
Tyler Tucker was on the hill in game two and was just as effective pitching all three innings striking out 5 surrendering 1 run on 1 hit for the win. The Higbee Tigers were seeing the ball well Friday night pounding out 12 hits through the three innings.
Travis Holtzclaw led the assault with 2 home runs and 5 RBI’s. Craig DeJonge also belted a homer and was 2-2 with 2 RBI’s.
Higbee Coach Chris Sander commented, “So far our season has gone well with a 7-1 record. Our pitching has been great, but we have room for improvement at the plate and on the field.”
