Moberly golf places second
Kris Childs - May 13, 2010The Moberly Spartans Golf team entered into the district tournament last Wednesday with high hopes of winning a district title. The team had shown through the season that they were capable of producing a championship season. Moberly ended up winning the District Runner-Up coming in second only to Warrenton who shot a total team score of 330.
Moberly was able to edge Duschesne by one stroke, Moberly ending with 343 and Duschesne a 344. Kirksville finished fourth in the district with a 347.Warrenton’s number one Jeremy Percy was the medalist in the event shooting a 74 while Moberly’s Mark Loeber finished with a 77 which gave him a third place finish. Jared Martin ended with an 85 which was good enough to qualify him and Loeber for State Competition.
Other Moberly scores were Lincoln Schopp – 87, Dustin Backe – 94, Danny Collier – 98.
