The Moberly Spartans wrapped up the final game of the regular season last Friday when they went on the road to take on #7 ranked in Class 4 football Hannibal Pirates. The Spartans struggled in their final game and weren’t able to get on the board against their North Central Missouri Conference rival and dropped their final game 54-0. The win for Hannibal gave them a perfect 6-0 record conference bouts which won them the NCMC Championship and will play Center High School (8-2) this Wednesday in the first round of playoffs.

Moberly was only able to pound out 217 yards of total offense last week gaining 100 yards through the air and the remaining 117 on the ground. Junior quarterback Ben Stoecklein was 8-12 passing for 84 yards, Chris Ewens caught 6 of the 8 passes for 52 yards. Josh Cedillo carried the ball 18 times for 66 yards followed by teammate Dimaja Smith who had 5 carries for 50 yards. Christian McCluskey and Jacob Sager led the team on defense with 8 tackles each followed by Davis Keleher and Jamie Eravi who each had their hand in 6 tackles.

Moberly finishes the regular season at 6-4 overall 4-2 NCMC, and 2-1 districts which puts them as the Class 4 District 13 runner up (2nd to Hannibal) and will enter the first round of playoffs on the road as they face #6 ranked Harrisonville (9-1) on Wednesday.
