Moberly comes home down Hwy 63 empty-handed
Submitted - September 27, 2010It was a rough night last Friday for the Spartans as they fell to class 2
powerhouse Macon Tigers. Moberly would drop to 2-2 with the loss after
Macon sophomore Taquan Kelly and the rest of the Tigers dominated the
field.
Speed was a big factor in a game in which Macon would
need only 14 seconds to score. After taking the ball almost the entire
length of the football field, Macon would use it’s Wing-T offense to
take the game out of reach for Moberly. Macon is ranked 7th this year in
class two and are in the hunt to make a deep playoff run.
Macons
322 rushing yards would account for a good chunk of its 408 total
yards. The Tigers took charge of this Hwy 63 battle with a 39-14 win.
Moberlys defense would game plan to stay off the field, thus, keeping
Macons offense the same way. This didn’t turn out the way the Spartans
would have liked.
With Moberly at the .500 mark they will welcome
the Fulton Hornets into town for homecoming week. Moberly will try to
get back on track Friday and have a good chance at doing so. Fulton will
come in with an 0-4 record.
The Spartans will be licking their
chops, or polishing their spears rather, as they look for the win that
could get them back on track. The Hornets come in desperate for a win
but Moberly will be looking to shut them down and improve to 3-2
