Lady Bearcats take Yellowjackets in three

The Cairo Bearcats improved their record to 5-0 last week when they took down the Glasgow Yellowjackets 5-2.

Cairo got the scoring started early in their half of the first inning plating three runs headlined by a 2 RBI single by Seth Barratt who later scored in the inning. The Bearcats added a run in the third inning with a solo blast from Luke Ancell who finished the game 2-3.

Glasgow answered back in the third with two runs of their own but an overall solid performance from the Cairo squad proved to be too much for the Yellowjackets to overcome. Brad Roberts was credited with the win in this one and improves to 2-0 on the year. Roberts went 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs and fanned 12 batters. Colby Dodd got his first save of the season for his 1 inning of work to close out the game for Cairo.
