Kids learn to play, love baseball

Do you ever wonder why baseball is America’s favorite pastime? Well if you take a trip to the Moberly Sports Complex on a Friday night you will see why.
Friday, June 25, children from all ages took to the field to play ball. Though ages ranged they all had one thing in common – they played their hearts out. Out here on these baseball diamonds there are no trade deadlines, salary caps, signing bonuses, or endorsement deals, just heart and determination. What these kids played for is the pure enjoyment of the game.
Many of the games here such as the Ragball league do not keep score; they simply play for the enjoyment of it and to improve their skills. Boys and girls of all ages came out here with the same purpose, to have fun and to get better.
Coach Joseph White of the Renick / Clark Ragball team stated, “We don’t keep score here, they are here to learn.” These kids show us the purest form of baseball, playing for nothing more
than the pure love of the game.
