Cairo moves up to 3-0 record
Kris Childs - September 10, 2010Cairo High School continued their fall baseball success on Friday as they improved their record to 3-0 against Brunswick in a 13-7 victory. The Bearcats did all of their scoring in the third, fourth, and fifth inning and at one point led the game 13-0. Brunswick began to battle back and scored 7 runs late in the game but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.
Colby Dodd got the win for Cairo pitching 3 innings surrendering 2 hits and no runs while striking out 5 batters. Andrew Prather also pitched 2 innings giving up 6 total runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and struck out 4.
At the plate for the Bearcats Aaron Barratt went 2-2 with 1 run and 3 RBI’s and a stolen base. Brendan Rutherford was 2-3 with a double 1 run and 3 RBI’s and Andrew Prather was 2-2 and scored 2 runs as well.
