Higbee takes season to 3-0
Kris Childs - April 7, 2010The Higbee Tigers played a double header last Wednesday against the Bunceton Dragons. Originally scheduled for one game, the second was added to make up a rained out game from March 23rd.
With this being Higbee’s first game of the season it took a few innings for the Tigers to get their bats warmed up going the first three innings without a score.
Higbee scored their first runs of the season in the fourth inning when Craig Dejane doubled to left then teammate Travis Holtsclaw doubled to bring him home. Higbee would score two more times in the inning giving them enough to close out game one of the double header 3-0
Higbee’s ace Arthur Fuller was sharp from the first pitch as he struck out 13 batters in the contest and didn’t allow a single hit.
Travis Holtsclaw went 2-2 with a double and a run scored, Craig Dejane was 1-2 with a double, Arthur Fuller and Tyler Tucker both had a hit as well.
Higbee went on to sweep the double header taking game two by the score of 6-1
