Show-Me Brass to Perform

The Show-Me Brass Band will present a concert on Thursday, March 25, in the Linn United Methodist Church on the Central Methodist University campus in Fayette. Their concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., and no admission will be charged.

The Show-Me Brass Band was formed about ten years ago, and includes musicians from Fayette, Moberly, and Columbia. The group has performed extensively in Missouri, and in music festivals in West Virginia and Illinois. The group’s repertoire includes traditional brass band music, marches, jazz and big band tunes, and show tunes.

Among selections to be performed on March 25 will be Franz Biebl’s “Ave Maria,” British composer Jacob Gade’s “Jealousy,” Glinka’s “Russlan and Ludmilla” [Overture], Chris Hazell’s “Three Brass Cats” [Mr. Jums, Black Sam, Borage, and Kraken], and I’m Getting Sentimental Over You.

Members of the Show-Me Brass Band include: Don Burks-Aguero [trumpet], Jeff Miner [Eb cornet, trumpet], John Perkins [trumpet, piccolo trumpet], Paul Copenhaver [trumpet, flugelhorn], and Steve Fair [cornet, flugelhorn], Nancy Roberts [French horn], Marc Lewis [trombone], Sara Rohrs Ringbauer [trombone], Wes Sherman [euphonium], Art Smith [tuba], and Ceili Cornelison [tuba].
