Sheriff’s Report

Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols reports the following incidents, reports, investigations and arrests.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Renick in reference to an alarm sounding. Upon arrival the deputy observed a vehicle setting in the drive. The registration was run, finding it to belong to the resident. A check was made of the residence finding all windows and doors secure. The deputy was unsuccessful in raising anyone at the house. No further action taken.

A deputy responded to a residence on County Road 2235 in reference to a domestic disturbance. The complainant reported that he and his wife became involved in a verbal argument. The complainant’s wife had departed the residence prior to the arrival of the deputy. No further action taken.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence at Fox Hollow Trailer Park in reference to an assault. The complainant reported that a white male subject approached him and pointed a shotgun at his head. Deputies interviewed several individuals and learned the true identity of the suspect. At this

time, deputies are attempting to locate the suspect who is believed to have fled to another state. The investigation continues.

Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 63 and P in reference to a two car motor vehicle accident. Deputies provided traffic control while the Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated the accident. Deputies remained on scene until the area was cleared.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 1500 in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that a dark colored Jeep pulled into his driveway. When the complainant opened his door, the suspect vehicle quickly sped away. The deputy patrolled the area but did not observe any vehicles.

A Huntsville resident was served an order for 96-hour detention, evaluation and treatment. The individual was transported to Missouri Psychiatric Center in Columbia without incident.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 2321 in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival the deputy observed smoke coming from the front door. The deputy checked the residence for occupants, finding none. The Westran Rural Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. No further action taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 2355 in reference to a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with the homeowner who advised that the children must have been playing with the phone. The deputy did not observe anything unusual.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 2735 in reference to a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival the deputy met with the homeowner who advised the deputy that she thought her grandchild hit the emergency button on the phone while she was playing with it. The deputy did not observe anything unusual.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Highway JJ in reference to a domestic assault. The complainant reported that the father of her child arrived at her residence and unlawfully entered the residence and started an argument. The suspect then grabbed the 3 year old daughter and left the

residence. When the complainant followed, the suspect struck the victim in the chest and knocked her to the ground. Statements and photographs were obtained. The suspect was located and arrested for burglary and domestic assault and transported to the Randolph County Jail.

While traveling on Highway JJ, a deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation. The deputy initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver. The deputy noted an odor of intoxicating beverage omitting from the driver. The driver was asked to submit to a field sobriety test, which he did and failed. The subject was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to the Randolph County Jail.

A deputy was dispatched to a business in rural Moberly in reference to a burglary. The complainant reported when he arrived at the business he observed that someone forced entry into the business. The deputy collected evidence at the scene. The investigation continues.

Cassiopeia M. Blaise was served a Randolph County warrant on two class B felony charges of distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce or attempt to or possess a controlled substance. Blaise remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Christopher M. Branstetter was served a Missouri Probation and Parole warrant for a probation violation on the original charge of assault on law enforcement and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Branstetter remains in the Randolph County Jail.

Joshua Michael Alex Luntsford was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked and an unclassified misdemeanor charge of purchases/attempt to purchase or possession of liquor by a minor. Luntsford remains in the Randolph County

Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Gregory Wayne Silvey II was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class C misdemeanor charge of exceeded the posted speed limit by 16 to 19 miles per hour. Silvey posted the required bond and was released.

Loy Joe Peters was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of passing bad checks – less than $500. Peters posted the required bond and was released.

Brian Lee Mayfield was served a Missouri Probation and Parole warrant for a violation on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Mayfield remains in the Randolph County Jail
