Sheriff’s Report
Submitted - June 25, 2010Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols reports the following incidents, reports, investigations and arrests.
A deputy was dispatched to the Westran Middle School in Clifton Hill in reference to suspicious vehicle setting in the parking lot. Upon arrival the deputy viewed the parking lot, seeing no vehicles. The building was checked, finding it secure. No further action taken.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence on County Road 2610 in reference to a structure fire. Upon arrival the deputies observed the residence to be fully engulfed in flame. The deputies remained on scene until the fire was extinguished.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to an assault. The complainant reported that when he arrived at his residence he was approached by a Moberly man who assaulted him by choking and striking him. The deputy obtained statements from witnesses. The deputy later located the suspect and interviewed him. The suspect admitted to the assault. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail.
A deputy was contacted by a rural Jacksonville resident concerning a violation on a child visitation decree. After obtaining information concerning the decree, it was learned that the child in question was in another county. The complainant was directed to contact the Sheriff’s
Office in that jurisdiction. No further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a location on County Road 2210 in reference to an abandoned vehicle parked on the road. Upon arrival the deputy located the vehicle and found it to be inoperable. Contact was made with the owner of the vehicle who requested the vehicle be towed. A tow company was notified. The deputy remained on scene until the area was cleared.
Deputies with the assistance of the Missouri State Highway Patrol were dispatched to a residence in rural Moberly in reference to a disturbance. The complainant reported that a subject was holding an individual against her will and also pointed a firearm at several subjects. Upon arrival
contact was made with all parties. During the interviews, several conflicting statements were obtained. Evidence was seized at the scene. The report has been forwarded to the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney for review and action.
A deputy was dispatched to the Clark City Hall in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that a light was on in the City Hall after hours. The deputy responded. Contact was made with a key holder who responded. The building was checked and found to be secure. It was determined that the light was accidently left on by mistake. No further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Clark in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that someone in a pickup pulled next to an out building and stole an undetermined amount of used steel fence post and scrap metal. The investigation continues.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Cairo in reference to a peace disturbance. The complainant reported that someone from the residence was yelling. The deputy made contact with the individual who was yelling. The subject advised that she gave her neighbor a key to her residence and they refused to give it back. The deputy spoke to the neighbor who returned the
key. No further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Moberly in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The complainant reported that he heard and observed someone walking toward her outbuilding. The deputy checked the area without locating anyone.
A deputy was dispatched to a location on County Road 1645 in reference to a report of suspicious activity. The unidentified caller reported that someone was using a spotlight and shining in the fields. The deputy patrolled the entire length of County Road 1645 without locating any vehicles. No further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to a report of peace disturbance. The complainant reported that someone was playing loud music and cars were being operated on the roadway in an unsafe manner. The deputy patrolled the area not hearing any loud music or observing any vehicles. No further action taken.
In the early morning hours an individual contacted a deputy to report that children were throwing rocks in the Thomas Hill Lake while the complainant was trying to fish. Upon arrival of the deputy, the deputy observed several vehicles leaving the area. No one was observed at the Lake. No further action taken.
During the early morning hours, a deputy was advised of an individual who was traveling on Highway A in a silver Dodge Caravan who had consumed a large quantity of pills. The caller remained anonymous and did not provide the name of the suspect. The deputy patrolled Highway A from Moberly to the Howard County line without locating a vehicle matching the one given. No
further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Higbee in reference to suspicious activity. The complainant reported that she observed two trucks and a trailer at an unoccupied residence near the complainant’s residence. Upon arrival of the unoccupied residence, the deputy made contact with an individual who stated that he had rented the residence and was moving items in. No further action taken.
A deputy served an order for 96 hour detention, evaluation and treatment on a Moberly resident. The individual was transported to the Missouri Psychiatric Center in Columbia without incident.
A deputy was dispatched to the Higbee City Park and the Higbee Baptist Church in reference to property damage. The deputy was directed to the damage which consisted of someone spreading black and blue paint on the basketball court and bleachers at the park and painting obscene designs on the sidewalk at the church. Evidence was obtained at one of the scenes. The investigation continues.
A deputy was dispatched to a location in rural Moberly in reference to a burglary. The complainant reported that someone entered his barn and stole 1 – Everstart battery, 1 – Swann brand security kit and numerous air tools. Photographs were taken at the scene. The investigation continues.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to a report of property damage. The complainant reported that someone removed his son’s bicycle from their front porch and damaged the bike by bending the handle bars. Photographs were taken. The report has been forwarded to the Huntsville Police Department for further investigation.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that someone entered his garage and stole his son’s white in color Mongoose brand bicycle. The report has been forwarded to Huntsville Police Department for further investigation.
A deputy was dispatched to a location in Moberly to meet with a rural Moberly resident concerning a child custody dispute. The complainant provided the deputy with a visitation decree and advised that his ex-wife would not let him have their child for visitation. After a brief discussion
with the ex-wife, the child was turned over to his father. No further action taken.
Deputies were dispatched to a residence in Higbee in reference to a domestic assault. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with all parties involved. The complainant reported that her son and his step-father became involved in a verbal argument. The son then assaulted the step-father by throwing him down causing him to strike his face on a table. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail where he later posted the required bond and released. The report has been forwarded to the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney for review and action.
A deputy was dispatched to MRMC-ER in reference to an accidental shooting. The victim and his mother were interviewed. The victim reported that he observed a coyote near their sheep herd. The victim retrieved a 9mm handgun and was walking toward the coyote when he tripped, discharging the weapon, striking his leg. The victim was treated and released.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Cairo in reference to an assault. The victim reported that a female subject that she knew entered the victim’s residence and assaulted her by striking her in the head and face. The deputy observed injuries that substantiated the victim’s claim.
The suspect was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail. The report has been forwarded to the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney for review and formal action.
Andrew Lorenzo Brooks was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of domestic assault – 2nd degree. Brooks posted the required bond and was released.
Randy E. Hallowell was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on an infraction charge of driver/front seat passenger 16 years old or over failed to wear properly adjusted/fastened safety belt. Hallowell posted the required bond and was released.
Jack Lee Smith was served a Boone County warrant for failure to appear on a class B felony charge of distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce or attempt to or possess with intent to distribute/deliver/manufacture/produce a controlled substance, two class C felony charges of unlawful use of a firearm, a class C felony charge of receiving stolen property – $500 or more or dealer in specific goods or explosive weapons and a class C felony charge of possession of a chemical with intent to manufacture/complete/convert/produce/process/prepare/test or to create a
controlled substance. Smith was released to Boone County authorities.
Jason E. Calvert was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class B felony charge of accessory – distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce or attempt to or possess with
intent to distribute/deliver/manufacture/produce a controlled substance. Calvert posted the required bond and was released.
Trinidad S. Rodriguez III was served a Randolph County warrant on a class D felony charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked. Rodriguez posted the required bond and was released.
Julie Ivonnie Derboven was served a Randolph County warrant on a class D felony charge of property damage 1st degree. Derboven posted the required bond and was released.
Brandy L. Williams was served a Howard County warrant for a probation violation on a class B felony charge of distribution/delivery/manufacture/produce or attempt to or possess with intent to distribute/deliver/manufacture/produce a controlled substance. Williams posted the required bond and was released.
Jeremy Allen Bohn was served a Randolph County warrant on a class D felony charge of criminal non-support. Bohn posted the required bond and released.
Gena Gail Fuller a/k/a Gina Tuggle a/k/a Gena Crutchfield was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or services of $500 or more but less than $25000. Fuller posted the required bond and was released. Daniel Joseph Kitchen was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on two class C felony charges of burglary 2nd degree and a class A misdemeanor charge of theft/stealing of property or services less than $500. Kitchen posted the required bond and was released.
Dominic Justin Curtis Gaw was served two warrants. Warrant one from Randolph County on a class C felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle – 1st degree. Warrant two was a Moberly municipal warrant on an ordinance violation of possession of Marijuana. Gaw remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bonds.
John Thomas Keller was served two Randolph County warrants. Warrant one on a class C felony charge of passing bad checks – $500 or more – no account/insufficient funds. Warrant two for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of passing bad checks – less than $500. Keller remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bonds.
Blythe Elizabeth Anderson was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class B misdemeanor charge of exceeded the posted speed limit by 20 miles per hour or more and an infraction charge of driver/front seat passenger 16 years old or over failed to wear properly adjusted/fastened safety belt. Anderson posted the required bond and was released.
Heather Marie Hinton was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked. Hinton remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.
Ashley Nicole McAlister was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class C misdemeanor charge of exceeded the posted speed limit by 11 to 15 miles per hour. McAlister posted the required bond and was released.
Mostafa Jawadi was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of burglary 2nd degree. Jawadi remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.
