Randolph County Sheriff’s Report
Submitted - November 12, 2010Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols reports the following incidents, reports, investigations and arrests.
Deputies were dispatched to a location in rural Huntsville in reference to an individual lying on the ground near a residence. Upon arrival, a deputy located a female subject lying on the ground who was extremely intoxicated. It was learned that the individual had also been taking prescription medication with the alcohol. The individual was later transported to MRMC-ER for observation and treatment.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Moberly in reference to an alarm sounding. Upon arrival, the deputy checked the residence, finding the doors and windows secure. An attempt to contact the homeowner was made with negative results. No further action taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to a report of peace disturbance. The complainant reported that his ex-girlfriend was at his residence causing problems while she retrieved personal property. The ex-girlfriend was allowed to retrieve her personal effects without further incident.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Moberly in reference to an alarm sounding. Upon arrival the deputy met with the homeowner who stated that she received a call from the alarm company. The residence was checked and found secure and undisturbed. No further action taken.
Deputies responded to an area on County Road 2375 in reference to a report of possible deer poaching. The complainant reported that he observed two trucks driving in the fields and then gunshots. The area was checked but no trucks located. The Department of Conservation was notified.
A deputy was dispatched to a location on Highway B, west of Higbee in reference to shots being fired. The deputy patrolled the surrounding area but did not observe any vehicles or hear any shots being fired.
A deputy received a report from a rural Huntsville resident concerning a theft. The complainant reported that he attempted to retrieve his Browning BDM 9mm handgun from the gun cabinet and found that someone had removed it from its case. The firearm has been entered into MULES.
A rural Huntsville resident was served an order for 96 hour detention, evaluation and treatment. The individual was transported to Missouri Psychiatric Center in Columbia without incident.
A deputy received a report from a Moberly resident concerning an assault that occurred on County Road 1218. The complainant reported that he was taking some friends home from a party when an individual that he knows came up to his vehicle and assaulted him by striking him in the face. The deputy obtained written statements from witnesses. The deputy attempted to contact
the suspect, but was unable to locate him. The report has been forwarded to the Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney for review and action.
A deputy was dispatched to MRMC-ER in reference to an individual who had been shot in the finger with a BB gun. Upon arrival the deputy met with the victim who reported that he was holding a quarter with his finger and thumb and his friend attempted to shoot the quarter with a BB gun and missed hitting the victim in the hand. No further action was taken.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Cairo in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival the deputy met with the complainant who reported that she and her boyfriend had become involved in a verbal argument. The argument had ended prior to the arrival of the deputy. No further action taken.
A deputy arrested a Huntsville woman after the deputy received a report that the women took a car without the owner’s permission. During the investigation the deputy learned that the women took the owner’s vehicle and while doing so, backed the vehicle into the garage door causing extensive damage. The suspect was transported to the Randolph County Jail where she later posted the required bond.
A deputy was dispatched to a location in Higbee in reference to a cow that was loose. Contact was made with the owner who immediately responded and secured the animal.
A deputy was dispatched to a location on Highway 24, west of Moberly in reference to boxes on the highway causing a traffic hazard. The deputy located the items and removed them from the highway. No further action taken.
A deputy received a report from a Clark business in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that a white male subject wearing a black hooded sweatshirt driving a maroon colored passenger vehicle pumped $43.36 worth of gas and drove away without paying. The investigation continues.
A deputy was dispatched to a location in Huntsville to assist a Huntsville Police Office with a disturbance. The deputy learned that one of the suspects drove to the scene in a vehicle. Upon contacting the suspect, the deputy noted that the individual had a strong odor of intoxicants omitting from his person. The deputy performed a field sobriety test on the suspect. The suspect failed the test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated.
A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway JJ in reference to loud music. The complainant advised the deputy of the location of the music. The deputy responded to the residence and advised of the complaint. The suspect advised that he would keep the music at a low level.
A deputy was dispatched to County Road 2285 in reference to four wheelers being operated on the road. The deputy patrolled the area without locating any four wheelers.
Melanie Godina was served two warrants. Warrant one from Missouri Probation and Parole for being a parole absconder. Warrant two from the City of Macon for failure to appear on an ordinance violation of minor in possession of alcohol. Godina remains incarcerated.
Stephen Alexander Severns was served two City of Moberly warrants. Warrant one for failure to appear on an ordinance violation of drove wrong direction on street. Warrant two for failure to appear on an ordinance violation for operate vehicle on highway without a valid or no license. Severns posted the required bonds and was released.
Floyd B. Daiprai was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of passing bad checks $500 or more – no account/insufficient funds. Daiprai was released on his own recognizance by the court.
Richard E. Richardson was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of passing bad checks $500 or more – no account/insufficient funds. Richardson posted the required bond and was released.
Tyler Wade Swetnam was served a Randolph County warrant on three class C felony charges of forgery. Swetnam posted the required bond and was released.
James Issac Dunn was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of domestic assault 2nd degree and a class C felony charge of endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree. Dunn posted the required bond and was released.
Carmen N. Strickler was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear in a class C misdemeanor charge of as owner, operated or authorized another to operate a motor vehicle without maintaining financial responsibility. Strickler posted the required bond and released.Richard Allen Lockett Jr. was served a Randolph County warrant on a class B misdemeanor charge of peace disturbance. Lockett posted the required bond and released.
Aaron Bradley Wilson was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on an infraction charge of driver/front seat passenger 16 years old or over failed to wear properly adjusted/fastened safety belt. Wilson posted the required bond and released.
Tyler Ray Dowling was served four Randolph County warrants. Warrant one on two class C felony charges of forgery. Warrant two for a probation violation of two class C felony charges of burglary 2nd degree and a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or services of $500 or more but less than $25000. Warrant three for a probation violation on two class C felony charges of forgery and a class C felony charge of possession of a forging instrument. Warrant four for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or service of $500 or more but less than $25000. Dowling remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bonds.
Brandon Scott Spears was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on two class D felony charges of nonsupport in each of six individual months within any twelve-month period, amount owed is in excess of $5000. Spears remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.
April Dawn Laird was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class D felony charge of driving while intoxicated – drug intoxication – persistent offender, a class D felony charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked and a class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Laird remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.
Tara Jean Webb was served a Macon County warrant on a class D felony charge of fraudulent use of a credit device. Webb is being held in the Randolph County Jail for Macon County.
Amanda Marie Newcomer was served a Macon County warrant on a class D felony charge of fraudulent use of a credit device. Newcomer is being held in the Randolph County Jail for Macon County.
Michael S. McClain was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class C misdemeanor charge of exceeded the posted speed limit by 11 to 15 miles per hour. McClain posted the required bond and was released.
Nicole Elizabeth Palmer was served a Ste. Genevieve County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked. Palmer posted the required bond and was released.
