Randolph County Sheriff Mark Nichols reports the following incidents, reports, investigations and arrests.

While on patrol in Cairo, a deputy observed a vehicle pull into a closed business. While approaching the vehicle, the deputy observed two individuals walk from a field and enter the vehicle. The deputy initiated a stop and identified all of the occupants. The driver’s license of the
driver was found to be suspended. Another occupant had two outstanding warrants. The driver and the individual with the warrants were arrested and transported to the Randolph County Jail.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Clark in reference to a report of animal neglect. The deputy met with the owner of the animals and found all of the animals to be healthy with adequate food water and shelter.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in Huntsville in reference to keeping the peace while an individual removed property from the residence. The property was retrieved without incident.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 1650 in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that during night time hours, someone stole his 2007 Ford Focus that was parked next to his house. The vehicle was later located by Moberly Police. The vehicle was processed and turned over to the owner. The investigation continues.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway JJ in reference to a mentally deranged subject. Contact was made with the complainant who reported that a male subject dressed in green shorts with a bandana covering his face was near the complainant’s residence banging his head against utility poles and then would drop to his hands and knees and bark like a dog. The deputy located the subject and found him to be a juvenile. The subject was taken to Moberly Police Department, interviewed and turned over to Juvenile authorities.

A deputy assisted the Division of Family Services with a hotline investigation at a residence in Clark. The report alleged drug use in the residence. During the investigation, no evidence was found substantiating the claim. The report has been forwarded to the Division of Family Services.

A deputy was dispatched to a location on Highway C in reference to a theft and property damage. The complainant reported that someone forced the door open to the Mt. Shiloh Recreation Park building and stole 1- 5 gallon wet/dry vacuum, 1- 90 quart Sterilite plastic tote and 1-30 gallon trash
can. Photographs were taken. The investigation continues.

A deputy was dispatched to MRMC-ER in reference to an animal bite. The victim reported that he was playing golf when he hit a ball into a tree. When the victim went to retrieve the ball, he stuck his hand into a hole in the tree. A bat exited the hole and either bit or scratched him. The
victim was treated and released. The report has been forwarded to the Randolph County Health Department.

A deputy was dispatched to a vacant residence on County Road 1245 in reference to a suspicious person in the residence. Upon arrival the deputy contacted a male subject in the residence. The individual advised the deputy that he was fixing the residence so that he could move in. The owner of the residence arrived and verified the story. No further action taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a business in rural Huntsville in reference to an alarm sounding. The deputy checked the premises and found the building to be secure. A key-holder arrived and advised that there were no problems.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Moberly in reference to a residential alarm sounding. The deputy met with the homeowner and learned that a family member accidentally tripped the alarm and forgot how to deactivate it. No further action taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Clark in reference to a theft. The victim reported that he received a phone call from an individual claiming to work for a pawn shop in Columbia. The individual advised the victim that a man was in the shop and pawned several tools belonging to the victim. The victim reported that he was missing a ¼ beef, 1 DeWalt 14 volt cordless drill with 3 batteries and charger, 1 set of Drill Master tools, 1 Milwaukee compound miter saw, 1 Skil Saw circular saw, 1 Bostich trim gun set, 1 100 piece DeWalt bit set, 50 2×4x12 boards,1
silver Fossil brand pocket watch, 1 silver Fossil brand wrist watch, 1 antique pocket watch, 1 handmade sheath knife with antler handle and 1- handmade Bowie knife. The deputy has been in contact with pawn shops in Columbia. The investigation continues.

A Moberly resident was served an order for 96 hour detention, evaluation and treatment. The individual was transported to Missouri Psychiatric Center in Columbia without incident.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on Highway M in reference to a violation of an ex parte order of protection. The complainant reported that her ex-husband had a mutual friend send her a message via computer. The deputy obtained a copy of the message. An interview was conducted with the ex-husband. The ex-husband denied the allegation and further stated that several of their friends were getting into their personal business. Contact was then made with the friend who sent the message to the complainant. The friend advised that the ex-husband at no time requested that he send a message to the complainant. The friend added that he sent the message on his own. At completion of the investigation, it was determined that no violation had occurred. No further action taken.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence on County Road 1192 in reference to a theft. The complainant reported that someone stole a dead end road sign that he purchased and erected on his property to keep people from trespassing. The deputy searched the area, with negative results.

A deputy was dispatched to a residence in rural Huntsville in reference to a 911 hang-up. Upon arrival the deputy met with the homeowner who advised that he never made the call. The homeowner added that he had construction around his home that could have damaged the phone lines. The deputy did not observe anything that would cause alarm. No further action taken.

Kayla Ann Wilson was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on an infraction of driver/front seat passenger 16 years old or over failed to wear properly adjusted/fastened safety belt. Wilson posted the required bond and was released.

Amber Dawn Tucker was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle 1st degree and a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or services of $500 or more but less than $25000. Tucker remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Christopher R. Opre was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana and a class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Opre remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Christopher Lynn Dysart was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class A misdemeanor charge of non-support. Dysart remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Kasey Nichols was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of passing bad checks – $500 or more no account/insufficient funds. Nichols posted the required bond and was released.

Brad W. Wenzel was served two Randolph County warrants. Warrant one on a class D felony charge of driving while intoxicated combined alcohol/drug intoxication and a class D felony charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked. Warrant two for a probation violation on a class D felony charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway while driver’s license/privilege revoked and a class A misdemeanor charge of possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana. Wenzel posted the required bond and was released.

Breanna Oleta Beckley was served two City of Moberly warrants. Warrant one for failure to appear on an ordinance violation of driving while revoked. Warrant two for failure to appear on an ordinance violation of failed to provide proof of insurance. Beckley posted the required bonds and was released.

Jonathan E. Baumann was served two warrants. Warrant one from Randolph County for failure to obey a judge’s order on a class C felony charge of tampering with a motor vehicle. Warrant two from Callaway County for failure to appear on an unclassified misdemeanor charge of purchase/attempt to purchase or possession of liquor by a minor. Baumann remains in the
Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bonds.

Mason Wayne Schell was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated – alcohol prior offender and a class A misdemeanor charge of possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana. Schell posted the required bond and was released.

Shannon Martez Glasgow was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class A misdemeanor charge of operated a motor vehicle on highway without a valid license – 1st or 2nd offense and an infraction charge of driver/front seat passenger 16 years old or over failed to wear properly adjusted/fastened safety belt. Glasgow remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Anthony W. Harris was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of sexual assault. Harris remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Brandon L. McWhorter was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class D felony charge of passing bad checks – $500 or more – no account/insufficient funds. McWhorter remains incarcerated.

Linda Barnett was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or services of $500 or more but less than $25000. Barnett remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Crystal Lynn Auberlin was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to appear on a class B misdemeanor charge of property damage 2nd degree. Auberlin posted the required bond and was released.

Christopher K. Lebus was served a Randolph County warrant for failure to obey a judge’s order on a class C felony charge of burglary – 2nd degree and a class C felony charge of theft/stealing of property or services of $500 or more but less than $25000. Lebus remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Kelly Sue Burkett was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class D felony charge of operated a vehicle on highway without a valid license -3rd and subsequent offense and a class A misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated – alcohol – prior offender.
Burkett remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Michael Anthony Walsh was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class D felony charge of unlawful use of a weapon. Walsh posted the required bond and was released.

John Charles Owings was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of Marijuana and a class A misdemeanor charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Owings remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Bobby Jo Stark was served a Randolph County warrant for a probation violation on a class C felony charge of possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of Marijuana. Stark remains in the Randolph County Jail in lieu of the required bond.

Dorothy L. Tolson was served a Randolph County warrant on a class C felony charge of keeping or maintaining a public nuisance. Tolson posted the required bond and was released.
