Higbee Friends of the Cemetery will accept donations at the tent at the City Cemetery from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flags will be available at the donation tent on a first come, first served basis.

Rothwell Continuing Education Living Memorial Scholarship summer term applications for Westran and Higbee School District residents are due May 30. Preference is given, but not limited to, nursing students and adults returning to school after being in the work force. Forms are available in Higbee and Huntsville at the schools’ superintendent offices, Casey’s and at www.cvalley.net/~lmscholarship

Memorial Day Service, 11 a.m., VFW Post 2654, hosted by the American Legion. Light refreshments will be served after the service. Art Latson will be the featured speaker.

Cardinal tickets for sale – support the Westran High School choir as they perform the National Anthem at 7:15 p.m., July 19 prior to the Cardinals vs. Phillies game. Tickets for sections 435, 437, 439 and 440 are for sale by contacting Shirley Amidei, choir director, at 660-277-4415.
