Weekend full of fun and solemnity
Janet Morales - September 17, 2010The Randolph County area was full of fun last weekend but also had events for remembering a past tragedy and the gratitude we have for those who work to keep us safe.
Fun started on Thursday in Huntsville at the Old Settlers celebration. Elementary students paraded through town, literally, and the elders of the community were honored with a dinner and awards.
Old Settlers was filled with pageants, baby shows, parades, games, food, bands and other entertainment. See pages 9, 12-15 for Old Settlers photos.
There were two home football games on Friday. The Night of Honor was held at the Municipal Auditorium. The event honored God, our veterans and those lost in the 9-11 attack. The Moberly Fire Department received a special recognition plaque as did Rep. Therese Sander. Photos of this event can be found on page 2.
