RC Republican Women host tribute: ‘May We Never Forget’

The third annual Patriot Day Commemoration will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, September 11 at Timber Lake Christian Church, 1624 Gratz Brown, Moberly. The event is hosted each year by the Randolph County Republican Women and it brings Randolph County patriots together to pay tribute to the victims of the terrorist’s attacks on our nation September 11, 2001.

“May We Never Forget” is the theme of this year’s event. A video presentation will recount the happenings of September 11, 2001.

Event chairman, Valinda Freed, states, “The searing images of that day are a part of every American. It is fitting that we come together as a community to remember.”

There will be special music and a Candle-Light ceremony in honor of those who were lost.

Randolph County First Responders will receive special honor during the evening. Members of the Randolph County Sheriff’s office, Moberly Police Department, Moberly Fire Department, Randolph County Ambulance District, and all Rural Emergency Departments will be recognized for their service to our community.

This is a unique opportunity to join with other patriots as we observe Patriot Day and as we say “Thank You” to the brave men and women who keep us safe here at home every day.

Doors will open at 6:15 p. m. Reservations are needed. Please call Valinda Freed at 660-651-6141 or e-mail sweep@socket.net. Dinner donation is $8.00 per person.
