Railroad Days come to Moberly

The Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce and The Moberly Rotary Club are gearing up for the fifth annual Railroad Days celebration that will take place from June 912 in downtown Moberly.

According to Chamber Director Debbie Miller, there are several new events that have been added with the help of other participants to make Railroad Days bigger and better. Along with stage entertainment, vendors, carnival rides and the very popular Sycamore Queen Contest, this year will also include a Mopar Enthusiasts Car Show, a YMCA 5K run and “Art on the Block” sponsored by Rollins Street Neighborhood Association and the Moberly Arts Council.

Contests held throughout the four days include a Mother/Daughter and Father/Son Look-alike Contest, Little Mr. and Miss Railroad Contest and Baby Show, as well as the Sycamore Queen Contest that features men dressed up as women to raise money for their favorite charity.

Musical entertainment on the main stage will include the bands Next of Ken, Lisa T and the Time Machine, Never Blue Avenue and others. Thursday evening, The Railroad Follies Variety Show will take place in the newly renovated Municipal Auditorium at 7 p.m.
