Night of Honor to be held September 10

In a tribute to honor veterans, service members, those lost on September 11, 2001, the second annual Night of Honor will be held Saturday night at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. with the program starting at 6:30 p.m.

Service members of all branches will be honored through a special trumpet medley by Paul Copenhaver.The Moberly Fire Department also will receive special recognition.

The Dysart Family and Lester Family will help all gathered honor the Lord through gospel music.

The Lester Family has performed gospel music for four generations. Often called the “St. Louis First Family of Gospel” the groups consists of siblings and cousins who have performed with the family group from a young age. Emcee and lead singer for the Lesters is Brian Lester. He is joined by his sister, Ginger Pitchers, his son Jonathan and Ginger’s son Evan Pitchers. Dan Pitchers serves as the Lester sound technician.

Special emcees for the Night of Honor are Paul Pepper and James Mouser formerly of KOMU-TV 8 “Pepper and Friends”. Pepper is now on KBIA radio in Columbia with “Radio Friends” and on the Internet at www.kbia.org.

There is no charge for the Night of Honor concert but a love offering will be received.
