Mikesell to speak at Veterans Recognition ceremony
Submitted - June 17, 2010Col. Jeff Mikesell, U.S. Air Force (ret.) Has been named the keynote speaker at the Veterans Recognition to be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 3, at Oakland Cemetery.
Mikesell was commissioned in 1985 and served most recently in support of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom with the 34th Bomb Squadron overseeing more than 700 personnel.
Mikesell is married to the former Stacy Vogan of Mobrly. They are the parents of five children, the oldest of which is a combat-decorated U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant.
The Veterans Flags Committee is hopeful that we will have two hundred flags flying to honor and memorialize our veterans as we celebrate our national day of Independence,” said Phil Merry, co-coordinator.
