Lease required for water service by renters
Submitted - June 25, 2010The City of Moberly is adopting new policy requiring new rental customers to bring in a copy of their lease or rental agreement which shows the date the tenant moved in. The reason for this requirement is so water customers can be accurately billed for water consumption. This policy will protect both the tenant and the landlord in that the tenant will only be billed for water used after they move in and the landlord will not be responsible for water used between occupancy and the time the tenant signs up for water.
Residents are reminded to bring in a copy of the agreement, along with their photo ID, occupancy permit, and deposit if renting.
Questions or concerns may be directed to the Water Office at 660-269-8705.
