Chamber names Ganaway as parade grand marshal

The Moberly Christmas Parade is set for 5 p.m., Sunday December 5, according to Chamber Director Debbie Miller. The parade will follow the standard parade route, lining up behind the post office and traveling east up West Reed Street. The theme this year is “The Sounds of Christmas”.

This year’s Grand Marshal is Sylvia Ganaway, who is well known in the community for her influence and involvement in Project Jumpstart, a program to help and encourage school age students.

“We couldn’t be happier to recognize such a wonderful person as ‘Miss Sylvia’ for her hard work and dedication to the children of Moberly,” stated Chamber President Barb Riley.

Cash prizes and trophies will be awarded for the two entries that best follow and portray the theme of this year’s parade. An entry fee is required with forms available at the Chamber office at 211 W. Reed Street.

The deadline for entry is Tuesday, November 30. For more information, please call the Chamber office at 660-263-6070.
