Residents urged to sign up for Code Red Weather Warning System
Submitted - March 10, 2010In conjunction with National Severe Weather Preparedness week and Missouri’s Statewide Tornado Drill, the City of Moberly and Randolph County Officials want to remind residents of Moberly and Randolph County, to sign up for the Code Red Weather Warning Alert service.
The City of Moberly and Randolph County offers the Code Red Notification System plus the CodeRed Weather Warning Service.
Any Individual or Business who want to receive Code Red Weather Alerts will need to register for the service. This includes all individuals who have unlisted phone numbers, who have changed their phone number or address, and those individuals who use a cellular phone as their primary home phone. If your phone number is not in the database, you will not be called.
WEATHER WARNING NOTIFICATION
Code Red Weather Warning will notify you if the National Weather Service issues a event specific warnings as a tornado warning, severe thunderstorm warning, or flash flood warning for your area. The alert areas are based on the National Weather Service warning polygons.
Only those individuals who have signed up for the service and are in the path of the storm will receive the warnings. The calls are made automatically in a unique system developed between the National Weather Service and the Code Red Weather Warning System.
In order to receive the weather alerts you must sign up for them.
Residents can sign up for Code Red and Code Red Weather Warnings by going to the City of Moberly’s Web Page at www.cityofmoberly.org or Randolph County’s Web Page at www.randolphcounty-mo.gov.
Those individuals that do not have access to the internet can complete forms for the service at the following locations. Moberly City Hall, Moberly Police & Fire Departments, Randolph County Sheriffs Department, Randolph County 911 Office and Randolph County Ambulance District.
