Wild Game Cook-off and archery tournament to be held March
Submitted - March 3, 2010The Moberly Parks and Recreation Department and the Moberly Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce a new event to the Moberly area. The Game On! Wild Game Cook-Off and 3D Archery Shoot will be held on March 20 at the new Multipurpose Lodge at Rothwell Park. The event is open to the public and is free for spectators.
The cook-off portion of this event will feature competitors creating dishes in one of four categories: Main Dish, Soup, Stew and Chili, Sausage, Jerky or other Cured Meat, and Other. Except for the Jerky category, all dishes must be prepared on-site. A fee is required for each entry. A complete set of rules can be obtained either at the Parks and Recreation office, or by visiting the city’s website at www.moberlymo.org. Competitors can also register for the cook-off online. Pre-registration for the cook-off is required.
The 3D Archery Tournament portion of the event has Men’s, Women’s Open, Youth and Cub divisions. Each division will fire three 10-shot courses. There will also be a long shoot in the afternoon. Entry fee for each of the Adult and Youth divisions is only $15 per division, and the Cub Division is only $5.
