Special ‘dates’ turn out for Father-Daughter Dance
Janet Morales - March 10, 2010By Janet Morales
There were about 80 young men on the dance floor of the Municipal Auditorium last Friday night. While each came with the love of their lives, it wasn’t prom or a wedding reception. It was the annual Father-Daughter Dance.
These men brought nearly 100 little girls ranging from toddlers to 12-year-olds. They slow danced, they did the Hokey Pokey and even the Macarena. Many of the young ladies were dressed for what might have been their first formal dance.
The event was sponsored by the Moberly Parks and Recreation Department. Dads and their daughters had their photographs taken and refreshments were served throughout the evening. Rhythm Express provided the music.
