Submitted - March 3, 2011Allie Soto becomes one of the first female track and field runners from Westran High School to sign a letter of intent to compete at the college level. Allie signed her letter of intent for Central Methodist University for Coach Jeff Hoskisson.
In Allie’s freshman season she broke the school 3200 meter run record 6 times and continued to get better, and finished in 5th place at Districts setting the present record of 13:19.26.
Allie has placed in the top 3 in the Lewis & Clark conference in the 3200 meter the past 3 seasons, and has placed in the top 8 in every meet that she has competed in during the regular track season.
She also has run the following events in high school the past 3 seasons: 400 Meter Run, 800 Meter Run, 1600 Meter Run, 4 x 400 Relay and 4 x 800 Relay.
“In 2008 Allie received the High Point award for all Westran female athletes and in 2009 was the High Point winner for running events,” said Westran Coach Allen Dougherty. “Allie has shown a lot of desire to be better and this season will be a good stepping stone going into her college running future.”
