Rev. Ken Schurb to meet library patrons to discuss his latest project
Submitted - July 2, 2010Pastor Ken Schurb of Zion Lutheran Church in Moberly will be doing a program and a CD-ROM signing at the Moberly Public Library Tuesday, July 6, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“The Old Testament Collection: Preaching Christ in the Old Testament during the Church Year” contains sermons that move through the Old Testament in historical sequence, beginning with Genesis and ending with Malachi covering a period of over a year. These sermons correspond with Church Year themes and relate Old Testament stories in an organized and more easily understood way for those reading and studying in our present day when biblical literacy is on the decline.
This CD-ROM resource provides preachers, high school religion teachers, college theology professors, and other researchers with a means of putting people in touch with the Old Testament Scriptures, as they are organized in sequence as they pertain to church year themes and other Biblical lessons without ignoring said themes and emphases. The sixty-one sermons also feature a Lutheran sensitivity to the application of Old Testament Law and New Testament Gospel.
The Reverend Doctor Ken Schurb has a PhD in History from Ohio State.
