Rescues and Runways

Maurices and the Moberly Animal Shelter teamed up for its second annual Rescues and Runways event. Spectators got to see a great fashion show by the models of Maurices – hair and makeup courtesy of Merrell University. Meloni Holman, MPD Animal Control Officer, brought three dogs available for adoption. The friendly dogs gathered a lot of attention and in the end, at least two of them were adopted by persons who had suffered the loss of a dog. Donations of money and supplies for the animal shelter were also received. Anyone wishing to find a new pet can contact animal control to view animals available for adoption. The fee for adoption is $10. Despite the efforts of MPD animal control, not all animals can be kept until they are adopted.
