Renick hosts area spelling tournament

Renick R-V School was host to the 20th annual Spelling Bee Tournament April 10. Fifteen schools were represented with a total of 180 participants.

Schools held their own local spelling bees. The top three winners in each grade one through six were eligible to take part in Saturday’s bee.

Schools participating include: Centralia – Chance Elementary, Centralia Intermediate and Chester Boren Middle School; Higbee R-8; Madison C-3; Middle Grove C-1; Moberly – North Park, South Park and Gratz Brown Elementary; Northeast R-4; Salisbury R-4; St. Joseph Catholic School in Salisbury; St. Pius X Catholic School in Moberly; Westran R-1; and Renick R-5.

MRMC and McDonald’s provided refreshments for the spellers and their families.
