RCCSA names Dunwoody 2010 Public Service Award winner

Donna Dunwoody, Moberly resident and Director of the Moberly Housing Authority, was named 2010 Public Service Award winner at the networking meeting of the Randolph County Council of Social Agencies (RCCSA) on May 4. Dunwoody received a plaque that will be displayed in her place of business for a year and a certificate in recognition of her exemplary community service.

Randolph County Council of Social Agencies is the local human services networking organization in Randolph County bringing together local citizens in various helping professions who share a common purpose and desire to work together to collaborate more efficiently and allocate resources more effectively.

Since 2001, in honor of May as national Public Service month, RCCSA members have nominated local citizens for an annual Public Service Award. This contest recognizes exemplary citizens who have made positive impacts on our community through their public service efforts.

Dunwoody was nominated by Becky Bade, Social Worker at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. Here are some excerpts from Ms. Bade’s letter of nomination:

“I have known and worked with Donna for more than 15 years. She has provided exceptional services and leadership at the Moberly Housing Authority setting a very positive example and supportive environment for her staff and clients. She is able to write grants and procure funding to
improve and benefit the Housing Authority and the Moberly area.

Donna is a very dedicated and productive citizen. She is always interested in learning and providing quality services. She has a commitment to our community. She is very perceptive and works well with all age groups from youth through the elderly and has years of experience in working with families.

Donna is outgoing, friendly, and able to easily establish relationships with people, families, staff, and area shareholders. She is supportive and concerned about the needs of others and Randolph County as a whole. She has a wide knowledge base that she is able to utilize in all situations. She volunteers her time to sit on multiple area boards of directors to assist with community development.

Donna shows ability, skills, and initiative to get things done-always doing the right thing and always
appropriately and ethically. She is flexible and shows excellent customer service skills. She is always
a team player. She has extremely high morals and ethically deals with all clients, families, and situations. She is an excellent example of a Public Servant for our community and I nominate her with pleasure for this honor.”
