RC Ministerial alliance holds June meeting

Rev. Jodie Jackson, Alliance Secretary

The Randolph County Ministerial Alliance held its June 18, 2010, meeting at the Family Life Administrative Office at 339 N. Williams St. in Moberly. Those present were Jeffrey Howard, Roy Morales, Marolyn Gaines, Jesse Hood, May Hall, and Jodie Jackson.

Vice-president Jeffrey Howard presided in the absence of President Vernon McGarvey who was touring the Holy Land. Jeff called the meeting to order by reading Psalm 133 and Matthew 6:33. He noted that the Building of the Kingdom of God should result in the building up of the church. Unfortunately the unity of believers that Jesus sought has not yet been realized, and he offered prayer that unity might be realized.

The minutes of the May meeting as e-mailed were approved.

May Hall gave the financial report that showed disbursements of $641.28 from the following funds: Benevolent: $ 282.80; SPNF: $358.87; receipts $159.00 from SPNF and $10.00 from Meadow Ridge for benevolent fund. Balances in funds as follows: Correctional Ministries: $1,696.06; General Fund: $668.21; SPNF: $127.67. May shared how difficult it is to say “no” to requests for financial aid.

Jodie Jackson reported for the Correctional Ministries, stating that volunteers were still needed.

A sign-up sheet for speakers for Religion in Kwixland was passed.

Roy Morales is conducting Meadow Ridge Thursday services this month, and May Hill will do so next month.

Roy Morales solicited writers for the Moberly Mirror’s “From the Pastor’s Study” and also asked that they be notified of any announcements of church activities.

Jeff Howard stated that he would not be present in July. He also noted that counselors are needed for Camp Penuel near Ironton.

Roy Morales noted the need for Al-Teens group in Moberly. Marolyn Gaines offered to help put him in touch with someone who might be of assistance.

The benediction was given by Roy Morales.
