Moberly, Westran students attend state music festival

Several Moberly High School and Westran High School students participated in the Missouri State Music Festival in Columbia last Thursday. These students earned their eligibility to attend by receiving top ratings at the District Festival held at Mexico in March. Both vocal and instrumental musicians participated.

Those earning the superior, or “I” rating were Sarah David, alto saxophone solo; Naomi Lewis, vocal solo; Joshua Lewis, Naomi Lewis, Hannah Culbertson, and Caleb Benitez, all with vocal solos; Kelly Wamsley, Hannah Culbertson, and Naomi Lewis, girls vocal trio.

Instrumental participants earning an excellent, or “II” rating were Dani Canaday, clarinet solo; Allye Williams, flute solo; Josh Warren, tenor saxophone solo; Gabe Warren, Jennifer Henderson, and Travis Baley, trombone trio.

Earning a good, or ” III” rating was CJ Harding on a vocal solo.

Westran

Students from Westran Misha Pamperl and Ryann Lee received a II (Excellent) rating at the State Music Festival for their vocal solos. Kristina Marquez, Robynn Ingebritson and Hilary Cerveny received a III (Good) rating for their saxophone trio ensemble. Robynn Ingebritson also performed a saxophone solo and received a III (Good) rating for her performance.
