Moberly High School performs at Truman State Jazz Festival
Submitted - March 3, 2011The Moberly High School Jazz Ensemble participated Saturday, February 26th in the 43rd annual Phi Mu Alpha Jazz Festival held on the campus of Truman State University. This was the fifth year in a row the band has participated and the fourth year in a row that they have placed second in their division. The band received a one rating from the three judges but point totals put them just behind the band from Platte County. Pacific High school took third place. Moberly guitar player Logan Lashley received the award for best soloist in the 4A division. Also Moberly students Josh Warren, Jamie Eravi, Josh Pedigo, Evan Todd, and Logan Lashley received awards for outstanding musicianship. The Moberly Jazz Ensemble will present their spring concert at the High school on April 21st.
