Moberly Community Provides Night of Food, Gifts, Entertainment: A time to be together

On Christmas Eve, it is tradition to spend time with your family. To sit around the fire together, conversing of the past year, and all around enjoying one another’s company in the warmth of a comforting and loving home. Others also enjoy spending time together as a community as well as with their families.

The Community Christmas Eve dinner was held December 24 at the Moberly Area Community College Activity Center. Full of food, games for the children and decorations galore. Rochera Knight provided the gift of music with her beautiful voice, singing beloved Christmas carols and entertainment for all.

The dinner served around 1,400 meals, 900 at the Center, and 500 carry out meals. Six bikes were given away to excited children and many gifts were given away to dinner participants.

“Everyone left with something,” explained Scott Robinson, one of the organizers of the Community Christmas Eve dinner. “The dinner itself went very well considering the weather, and everyone had a great time.”
