Miss Moberly royalty includes younger set

The Miss Moberly 2010 Scholarship Pageant was held Saturday night, February 27. Three other levels of competition were held for the younger girls of the community: Junior Miss, Pre-Teen Miss and Little Miss.
Little Miss Moberly
There were 11 candidates in the Little Miss contest. Named as Little Miss Moberly 2010 was Josie Wilson, daughter of Alan and Carlie Wilson. This year an additional award was presented: the People’s Choice Award. This award went to the contestant voted as most congenial. The People’s Choice winner was Elizabeth Latson, daughter of Arthur and Dorothy Latson.
Little Miss runners-up included: Lauren Huebner, first runner-up, daughter of Angie Huebner and Phil Huebner; Molly Greene, second runner-up, daughter of Kimber and Glenna Greene; Lauren Kitchen, third runner-up, daughter of Cody and Jennifer Kitchen; and Elizabeth Latson, fourth runner-up.
Other Little Miss contestants were Emmalee Killion, daughter of Micah and Lacy Killion; Kristina Taylor, daughter of Richard and Marie Taylor; Jasmine Zike, daughter of Amber Redifer and Vince Zike; Keli Seldal, daughter of Bill and Beth Seldal; Jolie Ginter, daughter of Joe and Lee Ellen Ginter; and Kelsey Traver, daughter of Melissa Jackson and Eric McCullough.
Pre-Teen
The Delp twins confounded another set of judges this year and took the first two spots in this division. Alex Delp was named Pre-Teen Miss Moberly for 2010. She is the daughter of Jennifer Delp and Quentin and Renee Delp.
Pre-teen runners-up are as follows: Alyssa Delp, first runner-up, daughter of Jennifer Delp and Quentin and Renee Delp; Taylar Dayton, second runner-up, daughter of Will and Tracy Dayton; Taylor Deskin, third runner-up, daughter of Tasha Welch and James Deskin; and Kylee Killion, fourth runner-up, daughter of Micah and Lacy Killion.
A Miss Photogenic Award was added to the contest this year. Miss Photogenic 2010 is Molly Wilson, daughter of Alan and Carlie Wilson.
Other Pre-Teen Miss Moberly contestants were: Alexis Hundley, daughter of Paula Bennett and Thomas Hundley; Madison Deskin, daughter of Tasha Welch and James Deskin; Alicia Covert, daughter of Kyley Holliger and David and Tammy Covert; Melasia Sorm, daughter of Jessica Fainter and Mark Sorm; Ryann McClellan, daughter of Jennifer McClellan; Kelsey Bowen, daughter of James P. And Cheryl L. Bowen; and Katherine Hager, daughter of Mark and Amy Hager.
Junior Miss
Kelsey Boardsen was crowned Junior Miss Moberly 2010 as she competed against eight other contestants Saturday night. Kelsey is the daughter of Laurie Boardsen and Dan Boardsen.
First runner-up is Katie Cashel, daughter of Gillis and Marilyn Leonard and Jack Cashel; second runner-up is Emily Dalton, daughter of William and Roberta Dalton; third runner-up is K.D. Burkhart, daughter of Tom and Paula Burkhart; and fourth runner-up is Cassidy Beard, daughter of Theresa Beard and Jeffrey Harris.
K.D. Burkhart was also presented the Miss Congeniality Award and Miss Photogenic.
Other Junior Miss contestants include: Stephanie Stegall, daughter of B.J. Stegall; marie McSparen, daughter of Marla Stegall; JoBeth Rush, daughter of Glenn and Kristi Rush; and Paige Bennett, daughter of Jim and Melisa Bennett.
Jessie Gamble, Junior Miss Moberly 2009 and Junior Miss Missouri 2009, gave her farewell address before crowning her successor. Jessie said being in all the parades was a “reality check”.
“I learned that little girls would look at me and think, ‘I want to be her someday.’ It was a reality check for me knowing I would set that example for them.”
Gamble said serving as Junior Miss provided her with “my chance to make a difference and I will continue making a difference even when I’m not Junior Miss anymore.”
