Submitted - March 10, 2010The Down East Boys, a Southern Gospel quartet from Reidsville, N.C., will perform at 7 p.m., Thursday, at the Municipal Auditorium. The event is co-sponsored by the Echoes of Calvary Church and First Baptist Church of Moberly.

According to their website, the Down East Boys had their very first national hit in 1989 with the release of “Beautiful Valley”. The group has a new recording, “The Cross Still Stands”, which also promises to be popular.
The group’s desire to consistently present the message of the Gospel with charity and with professional musical excellence has garnered the attention of some of the nation’s most noted evangelists. The Down East Boys have been afforded the opportunity to share the platform with many of those evangelists at crusades nationwide. This list includes Franklin Graham, Dr. Ralph Bell, Dr. Jim Wilson, Rick Stanley, Jay Strack, and Kelly Green, just to name a few. Additionally, the quartet has led the musical worship at numerous prestigious events, including a variety of Evangelical Conferences, as well as Chapel Services sponsored by Motor Racing Outreach.
