THE EARTH IS NOT FLAT

Vernon McGarvey
There really is a Flat Earth Society. Serious attempts are made by this organization to convince people that they have real scientific proof of a flat earth. As ridiculous as it sounds, there are people who believe their arguments and several thousand have joined the organization.

Equally strange as it may seem, there are people who truly believe they can live their lives as they want and there will not be any repercussions. Life is a circle like the earth. What goes around, as the saying is, comes around. The law of sowing and reaping is just that—a law not an idea. It is a fact of life. What you send out is what comes back to you. I have known people who have enjoyed an evening of sowing their “wild oats” and gone home to fervently pray for a crop failure. The Lord does forgive when we honestly repent; however, it does not mean that the crop we have sown will not come up and demand a harvest.

Morally, financially, physically, spiritually and in any way you can think of, the law of sowing and reaping has an effect. It is important to understand the fact that as much as there are physical laws that govern the universe, there are also spiritual laws that govern all of life. Unless you are aware of and familiar with these laws, you may continue to live in violation of these laws, which are absolute. You then continue to experience the consequences of this violation in the form of suffering. There will be serious ramifications if you decide to jump off a tall building. You will be violating the natural Law of Gravity. The same applies to any of the laws of life. Isaac Newton’s third Law of Motion, states that “for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” This basically explains how the Law of Cause and Effect operates.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:7-9 NKJV)

The circle is God’s fingerprint on His creation because it is the symbol of eternity. It has no beginning or end. Our body has the stamp of divinity upon it. Everything about us is round. This testimony of His design should cause us to think of our accountability to Him.

No, the earth is not flat and life should not be lived as if there were no laws or rules. “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The good news is that there are wonderful results of the law of sowing and reaping if you plant the right seeds at the right time. There is no better time to start sowing those good seeds than today.
