Friends of the Library honor Kisor

The Friends of the Moberly Public Library met for its 12^th annual meeting last week and presented Bonnie Kisor with an Outstanding Community Member award.According to Karen Hayden, director of the Little Dixie Regional Library, Kisor was on the Little Dixie Regional Libraries Board of Trustees from July 1978 until June of 1998. She was very instrumental in the renovation and additions to the Moberly and Huntsville Libraries in Randolph County and the renovations/ additions of the Paris and Madison Libraries. She helped select the architects, contractors, floor plans, and attended the monthly construction meetings with the contractor and architect.

“She was a very good voice for the interest of the library during construction,” said Hayden. Kisor is a charter member of the Friends of the Moberly Library serving as its treasurer.

“Bonnie is a very dedicated and hard worker for the group,” said Hayden. “She never misses a meeting and is available and helping at all fundraising activities. She is always encouraging members and advocating for the library. Bonnie has always been an avid reader and user of the library.”

Friends of the Library will hold its annual book sale Saturday, August 7 in connection with the Mainstreet Moberly sidewalk sales. The group asks for book donations, volunteers to work the sale and of course shoppers.
