Mirror splits publishing dates with special double issue

Dear Readers,

The November 24 issue was delayed to Saturday, November 27 to provide up-to-date coverage of the Westran State Championship game.

Our Westran fans have all heard the final game of the season with the Hornets taking second at State Championship. Now they can read about it and see some great color photos of the game in the Mirror.

Sunday marked the beginning of the church calendar and Christmas season. The Mirror included five pages of area churches and their Christmas season schedules. Each church has a brief description of worship services so if you like traditional services you will see which churches offer that, a more contemporary service or a blend of the two. There are plays, cantatas and concerts that people from all over the county can go to enjoy. The Christmas Spirit is in Randolph County! The Mirror hopes you find this guide useful and will tell the advertisers who helped support it.

We will NOT have an issue on Dec. 1 but we will be back Dec. 8 with lots of color photos of the light display in Rothwell Park which begins Dec. 1, the Living Windows (Dec. 2), the Candy Cane Hunt (Dec. 4) and, of course, the Christmas parade which is on Sunday this year (Dec. 5). The MHS band will perform in the Mirror office during Living Windows so you’ll have a chance to hear them and visit with us.

When you are all out starting your Christmas shopping tell all the businesses how much you love the Moberly Mirror and County Observer.

Thanks for your patience and loyalty.

Area churches to be featured in Christmas Guide

The Moberly Mirror will feature a special section in Wednesday’s edition. This section will feature area churches and list all their services and special programs for the Christmas season. Looking for a Christmas musical to attend this season? Check the Mirror Christmas Church Guide for dates and times. Would you like to attend a Christmas Eve candlelight service? There will be at least one such listing in the guide.

You can be in the guide, too. For $20 you can purchase a 2 x 2.5 ad that can be included on the same page as your church information. Invite others to your church, give a shout out to your Sunday school class, put in a note of encouragement for your pastor or just wish Randolph County a Blessed Christmas. See page 3 of the Nov. 17 edition for samples or come up with your own design. Remember, you can use color in the Mirror at no extra charge. Just call the Mirror by 5 p.m. Monday at 263-1411 or email your ad info to mirrornews@moberlymirror.com.

Another big win sends Hornets to state

Randolph County is all abuzz about the Westran Hornets, now 14-0 on the season and headed for state competition.

Kris Childs, Mirror sportswriter, was at Wellington-Napoleon to cover the action. Read all about it and see some first-hand photos in Wednesday’s Moberly Mirror.
